I am now the proud owner of two small, light and very cute hearing aids. I was told a few weeks ago that I would be fitted with hearing aids to help with my tinnitus - I thought how on earth is that going to help . . . but it has. My hearing is down, but not by very much but it does mean that I end up listening more to my tinnitus. So now my hearing is back up my tinnitus is much improved.
So any of you out there that have tinnitus that is bothering you it is worth asking to be referred to a tinnitus clinic.

I do not really need a hearing aid though I do not hear as well as I used to; When I went to the hearing person at the Freeman Hospital, a couple of years ago, she said that if my tinnitus became really tiresome, I should go back, as aids would help. So there you go, as they say
That is good news, I'm so pleased for you
Great news. I'll tell a certain mad cyclist - he has tinnitus.
I had Tinnitus in 1997, it drove me mad, ringing bells in my ears all the time and wasp like sounds. I was under the hospital then and they did all sorts of tests. They gave me a hearing aid to wear but I just could not get used to it, my Tinnitus did though finally disappear. Good to hear the hearing aid for you has helped a lot Westerwich. I have since started to wear an aid in my right ear again, just takes a bit of getting used to and slightly deaf in that ear.
